Book Recomedations

A FUN Book Read!!!

I just got finished with another GREAT BOOK! I can hardly believe how much I’ve been reading! I finished reading “Redeeming Love” a while back & IT was AWESOME! If you’ve never read that one… GO GET IT!!!

So a few weeks ago I checked this book out from our Church library:

6512X: Thorn in My Heart, Lowlands of Scotland Series #1 Thorn in My Heart, Lowlands of Scotland Series #1

By Liz Curtis Higgs / Random House, Inc

In the pastoral 18th-century Scottish Lowlands, two brothers, Jamie and Evan McKie, seek their father’s blessing and inheritance, but only one will receive it—and the hand of a beautiful woman. A thorny love triangle, sibling rivalry, parental manipulation, deception, and desire—it’s all here in Higgs’s powerful retelling of the story of Jacob and Esau. 432 pages, softcover from Waterbrook.

Did you read that?… 432 pages!! It really was a VERY good book & I could hardly put it down! This book is the first one in a 3book series… so needless to say.. I can not wait until tonight to go to the church library and check out the next one!!

I’m thru with Peaing!…

Yes, you heard right. PEA-ing! lol!
Last week my MIL picked 3 washtubs full of FRESH PEAS.
Course, we had to shell, clean, blanch and put in ziplock bags. Then yesterday and today was a repeat. Now, I can NOT complain.. cuz.. I LOVE to Eat some fresh Peas!! YUM! YUM! The kids HATE ’em… but I’m working on that. I watched Oprah today.. (which I don’t usually watch) but, she had Jerry Seinfield’s wife on there with her new cookbook, Deceptively Delicious.

This is where you sneak veggies in your children’s’ food & THEY NEVER KNOW!! I’m gonna try it with the peas… I’ll let you know how that goes. ;0)

Also, a couple of weeks ago, the kids were out riding with Big Daddy & Gran & came home with their own ear of corn. So, I let the kids shuck, and clean their corn and I cooked it for them. They LOVED it! Here are a few pictures i took to share & I encourage you to try this at home with your children.. they will LOVE it. If you don’t have access to a corn field, you can buy the corn in the husk at the grocery store. Bring it home and let the kids have some fun & guess what.. THEY WILL BE EATING THEIR VEGGIES!!
